Fedora Core 4 Test 2, too frustrating

Well, it wasn't Fedora that was to blame. I just couldn't hang in there with having to restart in Windows to play games, connect to work (short story: the Cisco VPN client for Linux is imperfect) etc. I'll still be running Linux, and probably Fedora, but not as my primary OS. I'll be giving up a stable SSH service and speed. The speed loss is due to XP 64 bit being more hassle for drivers than Linux at this point, so back to a 32 bit OS. :(

Now that I'm on a stable

Now that I'm on a stable Ubuntu release, I'm no longer having to deal with most of the issues I've ranted about. I also gave up on 64bit distros. There are too many little things to work out and make up for (like missing 64bit apps) I like attacking problems, just for the sake of attacking problems, but would rather do things like get VMWare running and have Windows as my ALTERNATE home OS. That's finally where I stand today. I'm now running Linux/Ubuntu Breezy Badger as my primary OS at home, and this stands as the longest running affair I've had with Linux since Slackware when it was a floppy distro. I am currently running Fedora Core in a VM, and testing Zimbra as a groupware server. I've been a cc:Mail and Exchange engineer/administrator over the years, but want to have a look at alternatives. Exchange seems too limiting, or maybe just not giving enough in the area of cost/benefit. Maybe a free tool with paid support would be worth it now, considering the maturity of the free software community and market today.
