BeTwittered Beta Progress, PreBeTwittered.

PreBeTwittered has come a long way this weekend.  I actually got several hours to update it.  I've changed the interface a bit.  I also added replies, direct messaging.  Everything seems to be working, even in IE, which can be a serious challenge sometimes.  Because everything does seem to be working, I'll probably put it into the production version (BeTwittered) tonight and start on some new features.  Next up: paging back through tweet "history" and viewing your reply and direct message lists.

Testing a post using scribefire

ScribeFire "is a full-featured blog editor that integrates with your browser" I'm gonna give it a try. I'm using Firefox portable, so need a bunch of extensions to make up for what I had using Flock. I'm trying out using all portable apps, so went back to Firefox for the time. I've just downloaded ScribFire, and posted this entry with it...

I'm STILL using Flock

I'm surprised. I'm still using Flock. It's not that it's a poor browser, it's just that it's not Firefox. I mean that the features are really nice, but all of the extensions Firefox has are too much to really leave. So the deal breaker for me may be gone. Flock appears to work with Firefox extensions just fine. This is the best of both worlds, then.

Use Del.icio.us bookmarks creatively (Firefox only)

Interesting use of del.icio.us with Firefox (and a dash of google's browser sync) This may be more common than I think, but I haven't seen any reference to it anywhere. Del.icio.us is a social bookmarking site, but I have a different (additional) use for it.

Firefox Extensions I'm Using

Firefox extentions I'm using now: SessionSaver .2, Tab X, FlashGot, Google Suggest, IE Tab, Tabbrowser preferences, Del.icio.us, SwitchProxy Too, Mozilla Archive Format and Google Browser Sync. I may get rid of the Del.Icio.us extension as I only use it as a bookmark site, and with the RSS feeds + Live Bookmarks in Firefox, this feature rocks. It gives me drop down menus of my Del.icio.us pages as if they were a local bookmarks list, but they are always up to date, and the same on all of my computers.

Programming FireFox Extensions

Here's an interesting link to a tutorial on creating FireFox extensions, Firefox Extension Development Tutorial :: Overview. I'm a bit interested in dabbling with FireFox extensions out a of desire to just hack something, and this has the added benefit of being done with Javascript. I hate the idea of using VBScript for anything since it's a crap language. Javascript is so much like C, Java, C# etc. that it wont be too much of a diversion from the mainstream stuff.
